The WRC is excited to officially announce the launch of its “Fall 2026 Research Roster,” bringing together emerging women researchers to investigate medical, scientific, psychological, and public health questions affecting diverse communities. The Fall 2026 roster was finalized on October 1 and comprises 12 research groups, each working on a distinct topic throughout the semester. Their work will culminate in WRC’s upcoming November conference, where researchers will have the opportunity to present and discuss their work while engaging with medical and academic topics.

The program was founded and is led by Delina Charles, Founder and President of WRC. Charles brings her research background to the organization, including experience at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and independent research at Thomas Jefferson University. Through WRC, she has created a space where young women can develop their research interests, strengthen their academic skills, collaborate with other researchers, and explore questions with real-world implications for medicine and society.

This fall’s roster reflects that mission. The 12 groups are exploring topics spanning neurology, women’s health, endocrinology, mental health, genetics, pediatrics, anesthesiology, exercise science, and health disparities.

Fall 2026 Research Groups

Group 1:

Investigating how multiple sclerosis influences the development of Alzheimer’s disease pathology, particularly amyloid-beta and tau accumulation, and its effects on cognitive decline in women with MS.

Group 2:

Investigating the association between dietary patterns in vitamin K intake and PINK1 Parkinson’s patients.

Group 3:

How does Racial Disparity in US maternal Mortality Affect African American Women’s Willingness to Seek Prenatal and Postnatal Care

Group 4:

Comparative Effects of High-Intensity Interval Training and Moderate-Intensity Continuous Training on Polycystic Ovary Syndrome.

Group 5:

Multifactorial Effects on the Pathology of Type 2 Diabetes in Black Women in the United States of America.

Group 6:

Research title to be announced

Group 7:

Chemotherapy and Radiation: The Effects on Myelination for Children Under Five.

Group 8:

The Influence of Dietary Patterns on Anemia Prevalence Among South Asian Populations: A Comparative Analysis of Differences Between Males and Females

Group 9:

Examining the Effects of Different Types of Anesthetic Drugs on Patients with Natural Red Hair, Specifically Containing the Melanocortin 1 Receptor (MC1R) Gene.

Group 10:

Religiosity and Willingness to Seek Professional Mental Health Help Among Church Attendees.

Group 11:

Determinants of Stroke Prevalence in Pakistani Populations: A Comparative Review of Genetic, Environmental, and Educational Factors Across Native, Immigrant, and First-Generation Pakistanis.

Group 12:

An Intersectional Analysis of the Disparities in Diagnosis of Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS) in Women and the Sequential Deficit of Education on Hormones, Lifestyle Factors, and Metabolic Interventions for Women, Which Simultaneously Increases the Risk of Developing Gestational and Type 2 Diabetes.

Although the research questions vary significantly, the groups share a common goal: to examine important questions in health and science while developing the skills necessary to participate meaningfully in academic research.

For the women joining the Fall 2026 roster, the launch represents more than the beginning of a research project. It is an opportunity to collaborate, ask difficult questions, learn from one another, and contribute their perspectives to areas of research that continue to evolve. The excitement surrounding the new roster will carry into WRC’s November 2026 conference, which will bring together the academic and medical interests represented throughout the program. The conference will provide a space for conversations surrounding research, medicine, education, and the work being developed by WRC researchers.

As the Fall 2026 research season officially begins, WRC celebrates each researcher stepping into the program and the questions they have chosen to investigate. Twelve groups. Twelve areas of inquiry. One community of women growing together through research.

The WRC Fall 2026 roster is officially underway.
