Local bookstores are known to be the backbone of the book-loving community. They provide a way for avid readers to connect with one another and often serve as a community hub. Cupid’s Bookshop does just that!

Cupid’s Bookshop is Philadelphia’s first all-romance bookstore! This bookstore caters towards romance novel enthusiasts, with a variety of romance book selections and a wide range of authors. They have different sections dedicated to different sub-genres of romance novels, so you can choose the one that’s right for you! The sections feature many different options, including contemporary, fantasy, historical, and LGBTQ+.

The bookshelves that feature the popular series A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas.

When you first enter the shop, you are greeted by Fabio Lanzoni and Robert Pattinson cardboard standees that stand in front of a heart-shaped backdrop decorated with flowers. In the middle, there’s a table with little DIY charms that you can purchase to make Kindle accessories.

They have an additional variety of goods, including bookmarks, stationary, and candles. There is also merchandise for Cupid’s Bookshop, including hats, shirts, and tote bags. They host a variety of events, including book signings with authors, movie nights, book clubs, and so much more! You can check it out on their Instagram page @thecupidbookshop or go to their website cupidsbookshop.com! They have great events scheduled for the fall!

The shop also offers a section of “surprise” books, referred to as the “blind date with a book” selection. If you are ever feeling adventurous or are in a reading slump, it a good way to introduce yourself to new authors and books! The books are wrapped in wrapping paper, and have a note attached that describes broad genres such as “contemporary”, “rom-com”, etc. The surprise books also include "freebies" such as stickers, highlighters, sticky tabs, and a little flower.
