On October 8, 2026, Thomas Jefferson University’s She Speaks Society partnered with the university’s Title IX Department to host a Women’s Advocacy Forum in the Gutman Library Media Auditorium. The event brought together university leadership, campus representatives, and community organizations to raise awareness about Title IX, student rights, consent, healthy relationships, reporting options, and resources available to support student safety and well-being.

Led by Gabrielle, President of She Speaks Society, the forum was months in the making. Since July, Gabrielle has worked closely with Jefferson’s Title IX Department through planning meetings, ongoing communication, and collaboration to bring this initiative to life. Her goal was to create an educational space where students could ask questions, engage in meaningful conversations, and become more informed about their rights and available support systems.

For Gabrielle, raising awareness about Title IX is more than an event initiative; it is a meaningful part of her commitment to women’s advocacy, empowerment, and student well-being. Through She Speaks Society, she continues to create opportunities for students to discuss issues that directly impact their safety and campus experiences.

The forum featured university leadership and representatives from organizations dedicated to student support and prevention education, including University President Dr. Aldridge, Timothy Butler, Women Organized Against Rape (W.O.A.R.), and Laurel House. Panelists shared valuable perspectives and resources while encouraging students to participate in open dialogue about campus safety and support.

In recognition of her dedication to raising awareness of vital student resources and her partnership in prevention education, Gabrielle and She Speaks Society received a Certificate of Appreciation from Jefferson’s Title IX Team. This recognition celebrated the time, leadership, and collaborative effort invested in bringing the initiative to campus.

The Women’s Advocacy Forum reflects She Speaks Society’s continued commitment to empowering students, advocating for women, and creating spaces where every individual feels heard, informed, and supported. What began as a collaborative vision in July became an opportunity to bring university leadership, community organizations, and students together for an important conversation.

Through student leadership, collaboration, and advocacy, Gabrielle and She Speaks Society continue to demonstrate that meaningful change begins when we create space for voices to be heard.
