TJU Faces Printer Problems

By Jasmin Bickham

During midterm season, students are bombarded with paper after paper and project after project. Jefferson offers each student a semesterly allowance of $25 for printing at ten cents a page for black and white printing and 25 cents a page for color printing. That sounds acceptable, except that during the fall 2024 midterm season, the printers did not work! I know I am not the only one who struggled with this. Students and even faculty struggled to print anywhere on campus.

I frequently observed students huddled around the printer, begging for it to work and asking one another if they knew how to make it print. I have a professor who has been late to class or has had to leave more than once to print materials. I have been stuck the night before an assignment is due, trying and failing to print multiple times. When I attempted to print in the library, the library staff could not assist me. For being a school rooted in the idea of innovation, why are we still struggling for proper printing?
